How this Vision will be Actualized: The Strategies

While fully accepting the Indian Constitution as defined today, the VIP rejects all political groups and choices that are available today to our people. These groups have failed to bring out the best among Indians. These groups have increased confusion and bitterness across the country. Many of these groups are peopled by bigots and narrow-minded fanatics. Others, by power-seekers with no idea of what is good for India.

  1. The best people: These political groups have failed to bring our best brains into policy making and politics. The VIP shall provide the avenue for principled and high quality people, from all walks of life, to apply their mind to formulation of the best policies for India. These are the quiet but deep-thinking people who have been kept out by today's rough and unprincipled politics.

  2. Building competitive "muscle": The VIP shall build the competitive "muscle" of all Indians. This might require importing the best brains from all over the world to teach us; it might involve letting Indian industry struggle for survival against the onslaught of strong competitors; something they have not ever done before, leaving them weak and flabby. Whatever it takes to cut this flab, and to develop "muscle," VIP shall do. Not mere cliches like "liberalization" and the like. But building human resources, and making each Indian into a lean, mean, competitive machine, "hungry" for power and wealth.

  3. Correct set of incentives: The VIP understands that when allowed to gain in proportion to the effort put in, all people put in their best effort. Therefore, VIP will put into place the simplest and best incentives for everyone in India. At the same time, for those who are unable to compete, there will be humane care and social security.

Details on precisely how the above three strategies will be implemented are being prepared and will be available at the next level of specificity in the Manifesto and at the final level of specificity in the Policy Framework designed by the Shadow Cabinet. You are invited to think about these strategies and offer suggestions on how these can be achieved, to Sanjeev.
